A Little Piece of France in Cary: La Pause Parisienne

If you love discovering charming local spots that make you feel like you’ve traveled somewhere without ever leaving town, La Pause Parisienne in Cary, North Carolina is one to add to your list.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt incredibly welcoming. The space is much larger than I expected, with adorable little corners decorated with French-inspired details that make the café feel warm, cozy, and special. It really gives you that feeling of stepping into a little café in France.

One of my favorite touches? They greet you in French.

It’s such a small detail, but it immediately adds to the experience.

I also had the opportunity to speak with one of the owners, and she was absolutely lovely. She explained that they had only recently opened, so they are still in those early stages of getting everything established. Even so, my experience was wonderful.

What I Tried

I started with a coffee, and it was delicious.

For lunch, I ordered a chicken croissant sandwich, and it was so good. The croissant was exactly what you want from a French bakery-style sandwich — buttery, light, and perfect with the chicken filling.

I couldn’t remember the official name of the sandwich afterward, but I definitely remembered how much I enjoyed it!

With my meal, I also tried their hot chocolate, which was another winner. Rich, comforting, and delicious — especially if you love treating yourself to something a little more indulgent with lunch.

The Service

The service really stood out to me.

Everyone was attentive, friendly, and happy to help. I asked for recommendations because it was my first visit, and they took the time to suggest different things for me to try.

That always makes such a difference when you’re visiting somewhere new.

You never feel rushed or like you’re just another customer walking through the door.

Sit Inside—or Enjoy the Patio

Another thing I loved is that La Pause Parisienne has an outdoor patio.

The weather was beautiful the day I visited, and quite a few people were taking advantage of it and sitting outside. It makes this a great place for a relaxed coffee, brunch, lunch with a friend, or even a little solo date when you just want to slow down for an hour.

Inside, though, you’ll definitely want to take a look around. The French décor and little seating areas are part of what makes the café feel so charming.

Tutti’s Take

La Pause Parisienne is still new, but based on my first visit, I think Cary has gained a really lovely little spot.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was attentive, the food was delicious, and the owners made the experience feel personal.

And sometimes that’s exactly what I’m looking for when I explore a local restaurant — not just good food, but a place with personality.

If you’re in the Cary area and love French cafés, croissants, coffee, pastries, or simply discovering something new, I would absolutely put this one on your list.

I’ll definitely be going back because there are still plenty of things on the menu I want to try.
