A Local Favorite: Annelore’s German Bakery in Cary, NC
Some places become favorites because of the food. Others become favorites because of how they make you feel. Annelore’s German Bakery has become both for me.
Since moving to the Triangle, North Carolina, I’ve discovered so many wonderful local places, but Annelore’s German Bakery in Cary is one that I continue to enjoy coming back to.
There’s just something warm and welcoming about it. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a beautiful variety of baked goods, pastries, breads, desserts, and savory choices—and somehow there is always something new tempting me.
More Than Just a Bakery
What I really love about Annelore’s is the variety.
This isn’t the kind of bakery where you walk in, grab one pastry, and leave. You can stop for something sweet, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, or choose something savory for lunch.
One of my favorites is the quiche. Give me a good slice of quiche, something warm to drink, and a quiet table, and I am perfectly happy.
And then, of course, you have to look at the dessert case.
Even when I tell myself I’m only stopping in for one thing, that display has a way of changing my plans!
The People Make a Difference
Good food will bring you somewhere once.
Wonderful service is what makes you want to return.
Every experience I’ve had here has been made even better by the staff. They are welcoming, helpful, and genuinely seem to care about the people coming through the door.
That matters to me.
Especially when I’m sharing local places through Tuttilove, I don’t only want to tell you whether something looks pretty or tastes good. I want to share places where I actually enjoy spending my time—and where I would happily bring a friend or family member.
Annelore’s is one of those places.
A Little European Feeling in Cary
I also love that visiting a German bakery feels like a tiny escape without having to leave Cary.
There’s something about sitting down with a pastry, coffee or tea and simply enjoying the moment that reminds me of one of my favorite parts of traveling: slowing down enough to enjoy where you are.
And maybe that’s why this place fits so naturally into Tuttilove.
Travel doesn’t always have to mean getting on an airplane. Sometimes discovering a wonderful bakery, restaurant, shop, or neighborhood close to home can give you that same little feeling of discovery.
Why I Keep Coming Back
For me, it comes down to three things: the variety, the quality, and the people.
There are plenty of choices, the atmosphere feels comfortable and welcoming, and the staff consistently makes the experience enjoyable.
Since moving to the Triangle, I’ve found several places that have become part of my own little list of local favorites—and Annelore’s German Bakery is definitely on that list.
So if you’re ever in the Cary, North Carolina area, put this one on your list.
Stop in, take a look around, order something that catches your eye, and give yourself a little time to sit and enjoy it.
And if you try the quiche, you’ll understand why I keep mentioning it.
Have you visited Annelore’s German Bakery? Tell me what you order—I’m always looking for an excuse to try something new.
